Shipping Profit & Loss Calculator
Find out whether your shipping charge covers what shipping really costs you, including packaging. Useful when you are deciding between free shipping and a flat rate.
Who it's for: Sellers setting shipping prices, testing free shipping, or wondering where their margin goes on small orders.
How to use it
- Enter your average carrier label cost.
- Enter packaging materials per order.
- Enter what you charge the customer for shipping (enter 0 for free shipping).
- Read your net shipping profit or loss.
Assumptions
Shipping expense = carrier cost + packaging. Net shipping P&L = shipping charged − shipping expense. Defaults are examples. Marketplace fees charged on shipping (for example Etsy's 6.5% transaction fee) are not included here.
Results are estimates for planning, not tax, legal or financial advice. All figures are editable.
