Getting started with the Store Operations SOP Kit

The Store Operations SOP Kit includes 12 store operations SOPs, virtual assistant onboarding material and customer service macros, in Google Docs and Notion. An SOP (standard operating procedure) is a written, step-by-step way of doing a recurring task, so it gets done the same way every time, whoever does it.

1. Copy the files into your own account

Choose Google Docs or Notion, make your own copy, and keep it somewhere your team can find it. Start with the Quick Start guide that comes with the product.

2. Start with the task you repeat most

You do not need to set up all 12 at once. Pick the SOP for the task that eats the most of your time, or the one you most want to hand off, and edit that first.

3. Make each SOP match how your store works

The templates are editable starting points. Replace the general wording with your own apps, policies, names and links. A good test: could someone new follow it without asking you a question?

4. Use it to onboard help

When you bring in a virtual assistant, use the VA onboarding material together with the SOPs you have edited. The customer service macros give them ready-to-edit replies for common customer questions.

5. Review and update

Whenever a process changes, update the SOP at the same time. Small regular edits keep the documents useful.

Want only part of the kit? The SOPs are also grouped into smaller packs, such as the Customer Care SOP Pack and the Fulfillment & Inventory SOP Pack.

Templates are general guidance, not legal, tax or financial advice.
